MY NEW BEGINNING HAS COME PT. 2
MY MIND FACTOR
1 Peter 1:13
13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
KJV
Our anchor scripture talks about the importance of the mind as a major factor to experience our new beginning.
You need to set your hope - your expectation which is conceived in the womb of your mind. The mind is so important that we need to gird up the loin
To Gird means -
- To blind with a flexible rope or cord
- To encircle with or as if with a belt
- To prepare oneself for an action.
Loins - the part of the body (of human and quadrupeds) at each side of the backbone between the ribs and the hips.
Simply put, we should not be loosed in our thinking. However, most people are so loosed in their thinking. The fact is that you know that God is good, but the truth is you are discouraged and you are already scared at the way the year is going because this is the last quarter of the year and your expectations are not yet met.
I assure you that God cannot lie, probably things have not changed because your mind has not been able to handle the truth from the Scriptures.
Vs 18 of Isaiah chapter 43 says
18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
KJV
"Neither Consider" - that is to say don't think, what you allow in your mind.
Vs 19 -
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
KJV
"Shall you not know it." There must be a knowing. You must know it, accept it, believe it, think on it that there can be a road in the wilderness, a river in the desert.
It does not matter your present state, the wilderness, and the dessert experience you are passing through right away, what matters is that a way must come.
We are asked to guide our hearts with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life. Prov. 4:23
Your mind must accommodate it. It is the raw materials for your New Beginning to manifest.
HOW TO GUIDE THE LOINS OF YOUR MIND
- Be addicted to God's Word - Ps. 119:11. You need to constantly load your heart with God's Word.
- Be a God seeker - Ps. 119:10. Seek God with your heart.
- Meditate on God's Word always. Ps. 119:97. Ponder regularly on God's Word rather than the wilderness experience or physical negative situation you are experiencing.
- Always delete junks and negative occurrences from your mind. Renew your mind always. Rom. 12:2
