MAINTAINING A LIVING WITH GOD

A balanced life is achievable if you can connect with the one who can help you to be balanced.

Achieving balance can only be down in Christ. Before we go further let us consider the meaning of the word balanced.

Balance according to the oxford advanced learners dictionary (New 9th edition) is defined as Equal Amounts. A situation in which there is a difference in equal, correct, or good amounts. The word balance can also mean Complete or Perfect.

Matt 5:48

48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

KJV

The Lord expects us to be perfect as our Father in Heaven is Perfect. That is why Paul, in Col. 4:12 wrote to the brethren in Christ who were at Colossus that

Col 4:12

12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

KJV

He says that they may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. In all, not some of the will of God. God wants us to live a balanced life, to be perfect, and to be complete in him.

Col 1:28

28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

KJV

The balanced life cannot be achieved outside Christ. You want to live a balanced family life, you need him. As a spinster or bachelor, you can also live a balanced life, but not without Christ. Even as a teenager or youth, a balanced life can only be achieved in Christ Jesus.

So how do I achieve a balanced life?

To achieve it you must understand the most important principle of Christian living since Christ is the only one that can help you. As Christians, we must maintain a living connection with God by staying in daily communion with him. It is the success in our daily lives that cumulates into the weekly, monthly, and yearly success we achieve.

Information alone cannot help. Some are knowledgeable about faith, they understand how it comes, its importance to the believer, and have memorized a lot of faith scriptures. Some have information about healing, prosperity, but those things alone cannot yield results unless we learn to spend time with God daily and maintain a living connection with him.

Phil 2:13

13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

KJV

He works in you but to will and to do. Knowing it alone does not guarantee a balanced life but doing it. You can't do it without his help.

Heb 13:20-21

20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

KJV

Vs. 20 says "May the God of peace..."

Vs. 21, "Make you COMPLETE in every good work TO DO HIS WILL, WORKING IN YOU WHAT IS WELL PLEASING TO HIS SIGHT..."

HOW TO MAINTAIN A LIVING CONNECTION WITH GOD

Maintaining a living connection does not necessarily depend on your age in Christ. You can be a young convert and start off immediately. You can be an old-timer and also establish a living connection.

The first step to take to maintain a living connection with God which will enhance your living a balanced life is to Abide in Him.

John 15:1-5

1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

KJV

This is awesome. If we abide and connect with him, our lives will bear many fruits. He says we can do nothing without him, so, therefore, we can do all things with him including achieving a balanced spiritual life, emotional life, financial life, marital life, career life, family life e.t.c.

WHAT IS ABIDING WITH GOD?

This simply means Fellowshipping with him. It is staying in touch with him. It is talking to him in prayers and listening to him in his word, setting aside the distractions and demands of life, and taking time to commune with him in his word and in prayer.

No matter how busy you are, you must recognize him and include him in your schedule. He is so important that you cannot afford to ignore him in your daily schedule, you must create his slot.

He said in vs. 4

John 15:4

4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

KJV

So you see why you cannot afford to ignore Him if you really want to live a fruitful life and achieve balance in every area of your life. Don't be too busy with the affairs of life and take His time.

Some feel, how can I just create time for him? Everyone's schedule is tight and occupied and they are crying for more time. Some will even wish they have 28-30 hours per day. If you cannot manage 24 hours you will not be able to manage 28 hours.

It is my prayer that the Holy Spirit will help you and give you a deeper revelation to Abide in Him.
