TEACHING
Obey Promptly — Faith Responds to God
Faith that works is faith that responds. It is not enough to hear the Word of God, admire it, or agree with it; we are called to put it into practice. Obedience is one of the clearest ways our faith becomes visible.
Jesus said in John 14:15, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” Obedience is not a way to buy God's love. It is our loving response to the One who first loved us. When we honour His instructions, we show that we trust His wisdom, even when we do not fully understand His ways.
Luke 11:28 says, “Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” There is a blessing in hearing God's Word, but there is also a responsibility to live it. Delayed obedience can become disobedience when we continually postpone what God has clearly asked us to do.
Think of Noah, who acted on God's instruction before the rain came. Think of Abraham, who obeyed God and stepped into an unfamiliar journey. Their obedience was an expression of faith. They did not have every detail, but they trusted the One who called them.
God's instructions may involve forgiving someone, making a wise change, serving faithfully, giving generously, speaking truth, or taking a responsible step toward an assignment. Whatever He has clearly placed before you, do not allow fear, pride, convenience, or procrastination to keep you from responding.
Obedience does not mean acting recklessly or following every voice we hear. We must test what we believe we have heard against Scripture, seek godly wisdom, and act with integrity. But when God's Word is clear, our response should be willing and prompt.
As we continue this month of FAITH THAT WORKS, remember: faith hears, faith trusts, and faith obeys. You may not see the full result immediately, but obedience positions your life to walk in God's wisdom and purpose.
Today, ask yourself:
What instruction have I heard but not yet obeyed?
Take the next right step. Hear God. Obey promptly.
Walk in faith.

NOTE
Hear God's Word. Obey promptly. Walk in His blessing.
Powerful Quote
“Obedience is faith in action—and love made visible.”
